• The Link to the Community

The Williamson County Schools (WCS) Communications Department serves as the link between the school district and the Williamson County community.

  • InFocus

The InFocus email newsletter is the main source of WCS news and information. InFocus is produced weekly during the school year and contains district information, student and staff features and other news about Williamson County schools. Receive the latest news by subscribing to InFocus.

    Telling Stories using Video

Video is an important component of telling the WCS story, and video is used in InFocus, on the school and district websites, and on social media. The Communications Department works with a Good News Ambassador at each school and with the high school media production students and teachers to tell student, staff and school stories through video.

    Websites

Our websites are the primary source for district and school resources. The district website contains information from strategic plans to school buses to student enrollment to school menus and so much more. The District Webmaster and Assistant Webmaster train and support the School Webmaster at each school.

  • Social Media

The district also utilizes Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram and Linkedin to keep parents, students, and community members engaged and informed.

    Mobile App

Parents, students, staff and community members are encouraged to download the district’s mobile app. The app can be used to receive alerts for school closures, view important calendar events and add money to a student’s meal plan – to name a few. Visit the App Store or Google Play to download our app for free or navigate the links below.

    Mass Notifications

To notify parents of district events, school closings or emergencies, the district uses a mass notification system via text messaging, phone calls and/or email. School administrators and attendance secretaries use the system to notify parents with attendance and other outreach communications. We encourage families to make sure the district’s emails arrive in their inbox by adding the district’s email, wcs.edu and parentlink.net, to the address book or safe sender list.  If you aren’t receiving emails from your child’s school or from the district, contact your child’s school or follow the steps below based on your email provider:
