Central Office Leaders Assume New Roles

  • Two Central Office leaders will assume new roles beginning in July.

Special Projects Manager Dr. Laura LaChance has been chosen to serve as Executive Director of Elementary Schools, and Professional Development Director Laurette Carle has been named Executive Director of Teaching, Learning and Assessment and Professional Development.

“We are fortunate to have two experienced and proven leaders who are ready to transition into these new positions,” said Superintendent Dr. Mike Looney. “I know both educators are passionate about taking our district to the next level.”

LaChance began her career in Williamson County Schools in 2006 as an assistant principal at Crockett and Oak View elementary schools. In 2008, she was named principal of Heritage Elementary. In 2011, LaChance opened Clovercroft Elementary School where she served as principal until 2015. She assumed her current role as special projects manager last year.

“I consider myself blessed to be able to serve the students, teachers, principals and staff in this new role,” said LaChance. “Elementary years are the foundation for our students, and our elementary team is very talented with an unwavering dedication to children.”

Carle began her career in Williamson County Schools as a science teacher at Page High. In addition to teaching science at Brentwood and Independence high schools, she has previously served as a curriculum specialist and professional development coordinator. Carle has held her current role as professional development director since 2010.

“I am honored to serve in this new capacity,” said Carle. “I hope to build on the relationships I have and use my passion for effective instruction and quality professional learning to ensure WCS continues to improve outcomes for all students.”

Both LaChance and Carle will begin their new roles July 1.
