Student Academic Offerings and Programs

Located in Nolensville, TN, we are the oldest school in the area. We have a dedicated staff and an extremely supportive PTO. Our school houses Pre-K through Fifth Grade and provides safe facilities along with an excellent learning environment.
Nolensville Elementary School prides itself on providing a wide range of offerings and opportunities. Whether during the school day or before or after school, there are various ways to get involved. Be sure to explore our Library Media Center, our fabulous Specials classes, and our counseling program.

Special Classes

At Nolensville Elementary, we strive to develop a well-rounded student. Daily offering of special area classes help meet that goal. Our related arts classes see each student at least once every seven days, and more for PE.

Art
Every student in kindergarten through fifth grade receives visual art classes from a certified visual art specialist during their “specials” rotation. The goal in elementary art is to foster a love and interest in visual art. Students explore art and art-making from many cultures, time periods and media, developing a sense of self-esteem through learning the creative process of making art.

Library
The goal of Nolensville Elementary School library class is to teach students how to use the library to find the different types of information they need. Encouraging and helping students acquire the skills that they need to become lifelong learners is an ongoing theme throughout middle and high school in Williamson County Schools.

Music
At Nolensville Elementary, kindergarten through fifth-grade students will attend general music classes within the specials rotation. In Music class, we focus on an overall appreciation of music and the enrichment it can bring to our lives. We learn about music from many different parts of the world and experience a variety of instruments. In a typical music class students will be singing, dancing, moving, and playing instruments. Fourth and Fifth graders will learn to play the recorder. We also offer Cardinal Choir to fourth and fifth graders as an extra-curricular activity.

P.E.
The goal of Nolensville Elementary Physical Education Department is to develop healthy bodies, promote positive attitudes towards lifetime physical activity, practice sports skills, learn about physical fitness, and most importantly to have fun! Physical Education is an integral part of the total education process. It gives the students the opportunity to develop physically, mentally and socially through the use of physical activity.

Technology
Students will learn age-appropriate technology skills during these fun lessons. From, using the mouse, creating documents, or coding, there is something for everyone!
Extracurricular Activities

Cardinal Council
This elite group of students are chosen from 4th and 5th grades to represent the NES student body. The mission of Cardinal Council is to serve the school through events, service and act as leaders and examples for NES students.

Environmental Team
Fourth and fifth-grade students meet to discuss and implement ways to improve the environment on the NES Campus.

Math Group
Math Group students come together once a month to learn new math games, problem solve, create new friendships, discover cool patterns and structures within mathematics, and challenge themselves through exciting investigations. We had 30 group members last year, and we have an annual Family Math night that our members help with.

NES News Crew
The NES News Crew is made up of fifth-grade students. The crew will rotate every two weeks. Students will rotate through jobs as reporters, weather person, camera person, and runner. The NES News will air each morning at the start of school.

Reading Group
Reading Group is for any student in grades 4 and 5, that has a love for reading. This group is a great opportunity for them to share their love of reading with students their age. Students who attend Reading Group will participate in many activities such as: read a selected book and discuss it with other group members, help create bulletin boards to be displayed throughout the school, play fun reading games, and help out with Family literacy night. Safety Patrol
Safety Patrol employs fourth and fifth-grade volunteers to aid in student arrival in the back car-rider line in the mornings. Contact Mrs. Jones for more information.
