• A Message from Dr. Barkley

  • Dear Brentwood Middle Parents,

I know we are all excited to have arrived at Thanksgiving Break! I want to thank our teachers and students for their hard work and dedication while we have been in remote learning. We all know that learning remotely has its challenges, but I am grateful for everyone’s extra efforts to help our students continue their learning despite the additional obstacles.

As we learned earlier today from Mrs. Birdsong, we will have another week of remote learning the week of November 30th. Please note that Monday, November 30th, will NOT be a Late Start day and we will have a Flex Day on Friday, December 4th. I will communicate additional details as we head into the week of November 30th.

Please note that when we return from Thanksgiving Break, we only have 3 weeks of school remaining in the 1st Semester. Please take some time over the next week to review your child’s grades in Skyward Family Access and if your child has any missing assignments, I would encourage you to have them complete them by Monday, November 30th. Unfortunately, our students overall do not perform as well in remote learning and we experience a greater number of students not completing and submitting their work. Parents, thank you for your help to keep your child focused and giving their best effort while we are in remote learning. We are grateful for your partnership.

I want to wish all of our BMS Families a blessed and wonderful Thanksgiving with your family. We are so thankful for you and the opportunity to serve your family during these important years of middle school. I hope this Thanksgiving Holiday provides us all the opportunity to slow down, take a deep breath, and truly enjoy quality time with the ones we love the most.
