Dear Longview Family,
I am thrilled beyond words to be the principal at Longview. I am beginning my seventh year here and I am so proud to be a part of this amazing school community. What a joy it is to work closely alongside an exceptional faculty. I am excited to come to work every day to see our students and teachers hard at work pursuing the very best education for each and every student
I am a 37 year veteran of education. I began my career as a middle school math teacher at Radnor Baptist Academy. After spending nine years there, I moved into public education as a middle school math teacher at Wharton Arts in Metro-Nashville Public Schools. I then spent time as Program Specialist at Buena Vista and J.T. Moore before becoming an Assistant Principal at Bass Middle School in 2001. In 2002, I was named Principal of McKissack Professional Development School. After serving one year there, I left the district to serve as Head of Middle School for six years at Franklin Road Academy. I returned to public education and Metro-Nashville Public Schools in 2009 and served as Assistant Principal there until leaving that district to come to Williamson County in 2014. Prior to being named principal I served as an assistant principal at Longview, and I can't believe that I am starting a fifth year’s journey leading our amazing staff and students.
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of Kentucky and a Master’s in Educational Leadership from Trevecca Nazarene University. In June 2018 I received my Doctoral degree in Leadership and Professional Practice from Trevecca Nazarene University.
I have two amazing children who are also proud graduates of the University of Kentucky. My son, Stephen, played football for the Wildcats while he was there. My daughter, Bethany, graduated in May 2015.
I am an avid sports fan and love the University of Kentucky Wildcats!
It is my goal to get to know as many families as possible this year and to begin to build lasting relationships with the students and families that I serve. I encourage you to introduce yourself to me as we begin this most important journey of educating your children.
