Student Activities
-
Students have the opportunity to participate in a variety of activities at Jordan. Student Council, Green Team, Chorus, Art Crew, and Book Fairs are just a few of the things planned for students. PTO offers many exciting events for students and their families as well.
-
Art Crew
Art Crew gives students extra time outside of their weekly art class to explore art and develop their creativity. We also help create signs and decorations for school events and design the sets for Jordan’s music programs. At the end of the semester, we have a special project that will allow us to give back our community! Students in fifth grade are invited to participate on Mondays at 3:45pm. Please contact Elizabeth Galaher for details.
-
Chorus
The JES choir is composed of fourth and fifth grade students. They learn a variety of new music including songs in a new language as well as differing melodies at the same time. The choir has performances throughout the school year. Choir is currently meeting on Wednesday mornings at 7:45am. Contact Ms. Lauren Smallwood for more information.
-
Green Team
The purpose of the Green Team is to promote the 3 R's: reduce, reuse and recycle. We ensure that Jordan is an eco-friendly school by recycling various items such as cardboard, plastic, and paper. The Green Team educates and raises awareness of the importance of recycling in the community. The Green Team meets the first Tuesday of the month at 7:45am. If you have questions about Jordan's Green Team, please email Mary Harrell.
-
JES Broadcasting Team
Fourth and fifth graders meet on their scheduled Wednesday at 3:45pm with Mrs. Roberts and Mrs. Rogers to rehearse their upcoming broadcast show for morning announcements. Please contact Kristi Roberts or Judy Rogers if you have questions.
-
Student Council
The JES Student Council is comprised fourth and fifth grade students (a boy and girl from each class) that have been selected by their classroom peers. These students share the common mission to make our school and community a better place by conducting various service projects. Student Council meets weekly during lunch time. For more information, please contact Ms. Taren Hatcher
