Extracurricular
-
Students are encouraged to participate in extracurricular activities. To learn more about a club or activity, select the name in the drop down below.
Student led clubs are initiated, created, and led by students at each individual school campus where the club is active. A student who wishes to organize a non-school sponsored, student led club must obtain prior written consent from the school principal. These clubs are not governed by school officials, but a club monitor is present at the time of student led club meetings held on school campuses. Parents or legal guardians must complete and sign to participate in a student-led club before their child may participate. A separate permission slip must be completed for every club or organization that each student participates in. Please find the relevant files below.
Visit WCS Board Policy 6.702 for detailed guidelines and rules about school sponsored and student led clubs, activities and organizations.

Student Government Association
Sponsors: Ms. M Cummings and Ms. Bledsoe
Student Government Association (SGA) is an important group of students who meet to organize and carry out projects that benefit the school and community throughout the school year.
The group is composed of approximately 10 elected representatives per grade level. Our current 7th and 8th grade students were elected last May, and we are holding elections for incoming 6th graders at the beginning of the year. Students are chosen through a multi-step vetting process that includes application, interview, teacher recommendations, and election votes. These students meet at least twice a month (in and outside of school) to build leadership skills, identify school and community needs, and plan events.
Some of the projects that SGA has conducted in the past include a staff appreciation breakfast, volunteering at the Salvation Army, canned food drives, fundraising efforts to sponsor items and events for MCMS students, and our end of the year dance.
