School Supply Lists

Below are the lists of classroom supplies for each grade level for the 2018-2019 school year.

If you ever find the following items on sale and feel like making a donation, they are constantly in need:

  • Copy paper
  • Dry-erase markers
  • Hand sanitizer
  • Kleenex
  • Pencils

6th Grade Supply List


  • Calculator – Scientific Notation Calculator Texas Instruments – TI-30XIIS (can be rented from the FMS Library)
  • 5 pocket folders with prongs
  • 5 regular dry erase markers
  • 2 fine tipped dry erase markers
  • Composition Notebook
  • 1 pack of lined notebook paper

Language Arts

  • 1 ½ inch notebook (this will be used for LA ONLY)
  • Tabbed Dividers (pack of 5 or more)
  • Composition Notebook
  • 1 pack of lined notebook paper

Science AND Social Studies

  • Vibrant colored pens (3-5 different colors – 1 should be red, the other 2+ can be colors of the students choosing)
  • Scissors – medium size (not kid scissors, but not kitchen shears)
  • 2 jumbo glue sticks

To Be Used For All Classes

  • 1 canvas/metal-ringed pencil pouch that clips in binder
  • 1 hand-held pencil sharpener, with cover, that will fit in pencil pouch
  • Personal headphones/earbuds (to use with school Chromebooks and/or BYOT) to keep in locker & to be used at teacher discretion
  • Note: Some of the items below will be organized into the pencil pouch

Students’ homeroom teacher will take these items up & distribute as needed:

  • 1 ream of white copy paper
  • 1 plastic folder with pockets & prongs (will be used as a homework folder)
  • 4 packs of wooden pencils (12 or more, not mechanical – student will keep 2 packs & turn in 2 packs to their HR teacher)
  • 1 pack of colored pencils (8 pack)
  • 1 pack of yellow highlighters (6 or more, only yellow can be used on state testing)
  • 2 packs of cap erasers
  • 2 boxes of Kleenex
  • 1 container of Clorox (any brand) wipes
  • 2 rolls of paper towels
  • Baggies
    • If your last name begins A-M, bring sandwich size baggies
    • If your last name begins N-Z, bring gallon size baggies

Based on your child’s teacher, there may be a few additional supplies added once school starts.

When purchasing a backpack for your child, please do not purchase a backpack with wheels.  They do not fit in the lockers.

Please also purchase some extra supplies to keep at home: pencils, colored pencils, scissors, glue, paper, etc. Students may need these items for homework!

7th grade supply list

Paper and pencils will need to be replenished throughout the year, so stock up when things are on sale!

The following supplies can be used for all classes  

  • Pencil pouch
  • Pens (blue, black, and red)
  • 3 or more highlighters
  • 12 Cap erasers
  • 4 packs #2 Pencils
  • 4-pack dry erase markers
  • 2 glue sticks
  • 4 packs of loose leaf white lined notebook paper

Science-specific items  

  • 1.5-inch binder for Science only
  • Pack of 5 dividers for Science only
  • 3×5 index cards for Science only
  • 1 roll of paper towels (to be collected)

Language Arts-specific items  

  • 2-inch binder for LA only
  • 2 folders with pockets AND prongs for LA only
  • Pack of 5 dividers for LA only
  • 3×5 index cards for LA only

Social Studies-specific items  

  • 1.5-inch binder for SS only
  • 1 heavy duty folder with only pockets for SS only (no prongs …3 holes to put in binder)
  • Pack of 8 dividers for SS only

Math-specific items  

  • Expandable portfolio folder OR 2-in binder for Math only
  • Pack of 8 dividers for Math only (if choosing the binder option)
  • Composition Notebook (college ruled) for Math only

Turn in to Homeroom Teacher

  • 2 Boxes of Tissues
  • Clorox wipes
  • Hand sanitizer
  • 1 roll of paper towels
  • 1 ream of white copy paper

8th Grade Supply List

Every student will need enough of the following supplies to last the school year, or may need to be  replenished throughout the year:

  • loose leaf paper
  • canvas/metal-ringed pencil pouch​ ​(the type that could clip in a binder)
  • earbuds or headsets for online textbooks

General supplies to be collected by homeroom teachers and distributed as needed:

  • 2 boxes of Kleenex
  • 1 container of Clorox wipes
  • 1 pack of index cards
  • 1 pack of pencils
  • 1 pack of white copy paper

To be kept in pencil pouch:

  • multiple colors of pens (at least blue, black, and red)
  • 12 pack of colored pencils
  • handheld pencil sharpener with cover
  • a pair of scissors
  • highlighters (at least 3 colors)
  • cap erasers
  • white-out
  • pencils


  • 2 2 inch binders (one per semester)
  • 1 pack of graph paper
  • 6 black Expo dry-erase markers
  • 1 ruler with holes for binder
  • calculator – ​Scientific Notation  Calculator Texas Instruments – TI30XISS(This calculator can be rented from the FMS library.  Students are welcome to use any scientific calculator,  but calculator instruction will be based upon the  TI-30XIIS.)

Social Studies

  • 1½ inch binder
  • 8 pack of dividers


  • 1 pack of pens or pencils (teacher  collects)
  • 1½ inch binder
  • 1 roll of paper towels
  • 1 bottle of liquid soap

Language Arts

  • 4 pocket folders with prongs (one of  each color – red, yellow, blue, green)
  • 1½ inch binder
  • 8 pack of dividers
  • 1 pack of post-it notes

8th grade Spanish (8B) and Honors Spanish 1

  • Spanish/English Dictionary – there are usually some at Walmart for about $4.00-$5.00 at the  beginning of the year.
  • 1 inch (or bigger) binder
  • 8 pack of dividers
  • Pack of paper
  • Highlighters (3 colors)
