School Supply Lists

Below are the lists of classroom supplies for each grade level for the 2019-2020 school year.

If you ever find the following items on sale and feel like making a donation, they are constantly in need. Supplies can be dropped off in the front office or given to your student’s homeroom teacher.

6th Grade Supply List
2019-2020

Math

  • Calculator- Scientific Calculator Texas Instrument TI-30XIIS (can be checked out/rented from FMS library)
  • 1 pack of lined paper
  • Expo markers (5 black, no fine point)
  • 3 subject notebook
  • 5 plastic folders with pockets and prongs in the inside

Language Arts

  • 1 ½ inch notebook (this will be used for LA ONLY)
  • Tabbed Dividers (pack of 5 or more, should be plastic)
  • Composition Notebook

Science AND Social Studies

  • Vibrant colored pens (3-5 different colors, keep in pencil pouch)
  • Scissors – medium size (not kid scissors, but not kitchen shears, to be kept in pencil pouch)
  • 2 jumbo glue sticks

To Be Used For All Classes

  • 1 canvas/metal-ringed pencil pouch that clips in binder
  • 1 hand-held pencil sharpener, with cover, that will fit in pencil pouch
  • Personal headphones/earbuds (should be regular headphone jack style for the school Chromebooks) to keep in locker & to be used at teacher discretion
  • Note: Some of the items below will be organized into the pencil pouch

Students’ homeroom teacher will take these items up & distribute as needed:

  • 1 ream of white copy paper
  • 1 plastic folder with pockets & prongs (will be used as a homework folder)
  • 4 packs of wooden pencils (12 or more, not mechanical – student will keep 2 packs & turn in 2 packs to their HR teacher)
  • 1 pack of colored pencils (8 pack)
  • 1 pack of yellow highlighters (4 or more, only yellow can be used on state testing)
  • 2 packs of cap erasers
  • 1 box of Kleenex
  • 1 roll of paper towels
  • 1 regular-sized bottle of hand sanitizer

*Based on your child’s teacher, there may be a few additional supplies added once school starts. →

*When purchasing a backpack for your child, please do not purchase a backpack with wheels. They do not fit in the lockers.

*Please also purchase some extra supplies to keep at home: pencils, colored pencils, scissors, glue, paper, etc. Students may need these items for homework!

7th grade supply list
2019-2020

Paper and pencils will need to be replenished throughout the year, so stock up when things are on sale!

The following supplies can be used for all classes  

  • Pencil pouch
  • 3 Prong Pocket folder
  • Pens (blue, black, and red)
  • Three or more highlighters
  • Cap erasers
  • 4 boxes/packs of #2 pencils (1 per quarter)
  • Four packs of loose leaf white notebook paper
  • Accordion folder or homework folder

Science-specific items  

  • 5-inch binder for Science only
  • Pack of 5 dividers for Science only
  • 3×5 index cards for Science only
  • 1 roll of paper towels
  • 1 glue stick (to be collected for interactive notebook use)

Language Arts-specific items  

  • 2-inch binder for LA only
  • 2 folders with pockets AND prongs for LA only
  • Pack of 5 dividers for LA only
  • 3×5 index cards for LA only

Social Studies-specific items  

  • 5-inch binder for SS only
  • 1 heavy duty folder homework with only pockets for SS only (no prongs …3 holes to put in binder)
  • Pack of 8 dividers for SS only
  • 1 pack of loose leaf notebook for teacher

Math-specific items  

  • 2-inch binder for math only
  • Pack of 6 dividers for Math only
  • Ruler (with holes for binder)
  • 1 Glue Stick
  • 1 pack of post-it notes
  • 1 box of snack, sandwich, or quart size sealed plastic storage bags

Turn in to Homeroom Teacher

  • 2 Boxes of Tissues
  • Clorox wipes
  • 4 pack dry erase markers for homeroom teacher

8th Grade Supply List
2019-2020

Every student will need enough of the following supplies to last the school year, or may need to be  replenished throughout the year:

  • Students will not be given agendas this year – please get your student a planner for the  school-year
  • loose leaf paper
  • canvas/metal-ringed pencil pouch​ ​(the type that could clip in a binder)
  • earbuds or headsets for online textbooks

General supplies to be collected by homeroom teachers and distributed as needed:

  • 2 boxes of Kleenex
  • 1 container of Clorox wipes
  • 1 pack of index cards
  • 1 pack of pencils
  • 1 pack of white copy paper
  • Hand-sanitizer

To be kept in pencil pouch:

  • multiple colors of pens (at least blue, black, and red)
  • 12 pack of colored pencils
  • handheld pencil sharpener with cover
  • a pair of scissors
  • highlighters (at least 3 colors)
  • cap erasers
  • white-out
  • pencils

Math

Science

  • 1 pack of pens or pencils (teacher  collects)
  • 1.5 inch binder
  • 1 roll of paper towels
  • Glue stick (to be collected by teacher)
  • 1 pack of 8 binder divider tabs

Language Arts

  • 1.5 inch binder

8th grade Spanish (8B) and Honors Spanish 1

  • 1 inch (or bigger) binder
  • 1 pack of 8 binder divider tabs

  • Headphones with microphone for speaking practice
