Checkpoints Program Beginning in the 2017-2018 school year all high schools will implement the Checkpoints Program for new student drivers wishing to operate and park a vehicle on school grounds. Checkpoints is a training course designed to reduce injury and fatalities due to risky driving. Once students have met all of the state requirements, completed the Checkpoints Program training, and created a “Checkpoints” parent/teen driving agreement, they will be eligible for a school parking permit.
*One parent/guardian & student must attend the training. Throughout the year additional training courses will be offered for students who obtain their driver’s license during the school year. Those dates will be communicated at a later date. Current student drivers (Those who parked on campus with a valid parking pass during the 2017-2018 school year) will only complete the Safe Driving Social Contract in order to park on school grounds. The contract should be signed/dated by both student driver and parent and turned in when picking up 2018-19 Parking Tags. Parking Tag will not be issued until the contract is turned in signed by student and parent/guardian.
