Dr. Jones Joins Fairview High School
Welcoming Dr. Jones on board as the new Principal at Fairview High School.
As we enter the 2019-2020 school year, I would like to express how honored I am to serve as the principal at Fairview High School.
I had the privilege of attending a small community school in Bridge Creek, Oklahoma, and this upbringing taught me the importance of dedication to hard work, excellence, grit, and persistence.
In 1999, the Bridge Creek community and my family were devastated by an F5 tornado. Through this experience, I saw my school community as a rallying point in order to work together to pick up the pieces after an event that impacted so many. I have seen firsthand how important school is to the success and soul of the community, and together I know we are on a quest to continued excellence.
I am proud to be entering a school with so many involvement opportunities for our students. We have a strong Advanced Placement program as well as numerous Career and Technical Education programs. Our Mechatronics program is the envy of the state of Tennessee, and our partnership with Columbia State Community College offers graduates the opportunity to earn their associates degree or technical certificate, providing instant career opportunities. In addition to strong academic offerings, we recently completed our most successful year in athletics, and both our fine and performing arts have a strong tradition of success.
Our highly-qualified staff is kind and caring, and they truly believe that every one of our students can and will achieve if they are determined and persistent in attaining their goals. However, student success does not lie solely on the backs of our teachers. It is my belief that in order for students to have continued success, we must have a culture of partnership with our families and the greater Fairview community. Therefore, I am eager to build that relationship and partnership with you.
Our academic, athletic, arts, and career and technical programs have created a school that is clearly on the rise in our great district. Alumni, staff, faculty, and current students have built this standard of achievement, and I am proud to join with you in reaching goals beyond our greatest expectations.
Go Yellow Jackets!
