After School Activities Available at Grassland Elementary School

For student athletes transitioning to middle school, please visit the WCS Interscholastic Athletics page for information and all required forms needed to be eligible for tryouts and participation in athletic programs or activities. Link to WCS Interscholastic Athletics 

Student Council consists of 4th and 5th graders who apply in the spring for the coming school year and are accepted based on their character and leadership ability. The mission of the council is to serve the school and the community through events and act as leaders for the student body at GES.

Fourth and Fifth grade student leaders that enjoy singing, acting and choreography will participate.  The students will be working towards performances through out the school year ending with a spring musical for the GES community.  The group will meeting on Tuesdays at 7:30 a.m. in the music room.

Students run for approximately six weeks at Grassland Elementary. 2017 Run Club Schedule is :

March 31st, April 7th, April 21st, and April 28th. Pick up for Running Club is at 4:15.

Students may participate in The Color Run on May 6.

Meetings and/or field trips each month. Field trips are to Owl’s Hill. Meetings involve hands on science activities / experiments.

Focus: Strength Training and Fitness Skills Training

Focus: Strength Training and Fitness Skills Training. Fitness Club will meet in the gym on scheduled Wednesday Mornings from  7:30 – 8:10. Yoga and Pilates mats and travel pillow will be needed for each session. Students will need to sign in at each session. Open to  GES Staff, Fourth and fifth grade.

This is a fun and relaxing club  for second thru fifth graders.  Students learn about the foundations of music and music theory, the history of the ukulele,  and learn to play some great songs. Students do not need a ukulele to participate. Mrs. Peluso has some to loan during club time.  Novice and advanced students are welcome!  This club meets on Wednesday mornings at 7:30am, and on Wednesday afternoon at 3:45 – 4:30.

This is a club for third grade students who want to explore computer science. Students will learn basic computer programming, logic, problem solving and explore ways to be creative.
