How We Help

The licensed, professional counselors at Heritage are specially trained in counseling interventions, theories, and techniques. As an integral part of the school counseling program’s effort, the counselor extends a hand to ALL students, not just the problem or troubled child. The school counseling program supports and complements the efforts of the classroom teacher to facilitate your child’s learning.

The school counselor fosters excellence by helping students to achieve their potential. Our guidance counselors serve as advocates for your child within three program areas:

  • Personal and crisis counseling
  • Small groups (divorce, grief, interpersonal skills, etc.)
  • Support team and Section 504 services
  • Classroom guidance
  • Newsletters
  • Large group assemblies/special activities
  • Parent education
  • Professional development
  • Staff and community relations
  • Character Education Coordination
