ISSUE 14

IN THIS ISSUE...

The semester is rolling right along.  March is almost here which means spring is right around the corner.  Tuesday, March 6 marks the end of the third quarter grading period.

This issue of IN FOCUS features four video stories, including our latest edition of LUNCH LESSONS WITH LIBBY.  This week, Libby unveils the district's new line of specialty salads.  Then, we'll take you to Centennial High School for a look inside the district's only COSMETOLOGY PROGRAM and show you which WCS official volunteered to have his hair cut by students.  After that, we'll travel south to Spring Hill where students in Marsha Johnson's CULINARY ARTS class got a unique lesson on how to make bread.  Last but not least, let the media production students at Ravenwood High School take you on a tour of this year's International FOOD AND MUSIC FESTIVAL.

Some of the other stories you'll find in this issue of IN FOCUS include information about an upcoming SURVEY FOR PARENTS, an update on the BUDGET PROCESS and the dates and times for the next round of LET'S TALK SCHOOL community meetings.  We'll also tell you how several schools in the Spring Hill area plan to use money they received from a local KIWANIS CLUB to improve education.  Plus, the Williamson County ART SHOW is coming up soon.  We'll tell you how you can get free admission to this year's event at the Frist Center for the Visual Arts.

It's no secret that Williamson County Schools is home to many talented students and staff.  This year, 15 students were named NATIONAL MERIT finalists.  We'll tell you who they are.  Plus, we'll also unveil the district's two newest ACADEMIC ALL-STARS and highlight multiple students for their achievements in our AWARDS & ACCOLADES section.

We hope you enjoy all this issue of IN FOCUS has to offer.  Please encourage others to SIGN UP for IN FOCUS so they can keep on top of what's going on inside Williamson County Schools.  All they need to do is send us an EMAIL letting us know they'd like to begin receiving IN FOCUS.  The next issue will be released March 8.
