Sign Up for IN FOCUS

May 10, 2012

The school year is winding down and summer break is almost here. The final day of school will be a half day for students May 23.  High school GRADUATION ceremonies will be held that following weekend.

This issue of IN FOCUS has plenty of exciting video stories.  First up, we'll show you how students and administrators at Heritage Elementary School are celebrating the end of TCAP testing.  Here's a hint: it involves SUMO WRESTLING.  Then, it's off to College Grove Elementary where students had a party of their own - only this one involved an OUTDOOR COOKOUT courtesy of the WCS Food Service Department.  From there, we'll head to Spring Hill where students at Longview Elementary learned all about the art of PRINTMAKING from a special guest.  And speaking of printmaking, did you know Ravenwood High School has its own PRINTING PRESS?  We'll show you how it's being put to use by students.

Some of the other stories you'll find in this issue of IN FOCUS include an important reminder for anyone needing to turn in an OUT-OF-TRANSPORTATION ZONE request form and information about the annual BATTLE OF THE TEEN BANDS.  We'll also tell you which students were named ACADEMIC ALL-STARS and run through the recipients of this week's AWARDS & ACCOLADES. Plus, don't forget to check out the RUMOR MILL where we answer questions pertaining to TCAP, rezoning and plans for a new Nolensville area high school.

We hope you enjoy all this issue of IN FOCUS has to offer.  Please encourage others to SIGN UP for IN FOCUS so they can keep on top of what's going on inside Williamson County Schools.  All they need to do is send us an EMAIL letting us know they'd like to begin receiving IN FOCUS.  The next issue will be released May 24.
