Issue 11
January 6, 2011

It's time to get excited about the second semester.  We hope you had a wonderful and relaxing holiday break and are ready to start 2011 off right.  Don't forget, students will be out of school Monday, January 17 as we observe Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

In this issue of IN FOCUS, we have one video for you to enjoy.  It comes to us from Longview Elementary School in Spring Hill where students recently participated in a fun and educational event called FACTIVAL.

Some of the other stories you'll find in this issue of IN FOCUS contain important district information.  We'll tell you when parents can expect to view the results of the 2009-2010 State REPORT CARD.  Plus, the School Board will soon adopt new MATH TEXTBOOKS.  Find out how you can view them first.  And school has already been closed this year due to winter weather.  Learn how you can prepare for the possibility of ADDITIONAL CLOSURES.

You can also read about a SPECIAL HONOR for Page High School and learn how students at Woodland Middle School worked together to make one woman's DREAM COME TRUE.  Plus, Brentwood High School is gearing up for its annual PARENT SUMMIT and Hillsboro School is in need of a few good PAINTERS.

As always, be sure to check out the IN FOCUS PHOTO GALLERY, which features snapshots from schools across the district.  Plus, several Williamson County students were honored recently with STUDENT SPOTLIGHT awards.  And find out what people are talking about in this week's RUMOR MILL.

We hope you enjoy all this issue of IN FOCUS has to offer.  Please encourage others to sign up for IN FOCUS so they can keep on top of what's going on inside Williamson County Schools.  All they need to do is send us an EMAIL letting us know they'd like to begin receiving IN FOCUS.  The next issue will be released January 20.
