Issue 15
March 3, 2011

IN THIS ISSUE...

The month of March is finally here, bringing with it warmer weather, longer days and the official start of spring.  But that's not all we have to look forward to this month.  March 14 will mark the end of the third quarter grading period.  The following day, all high school juniors will take the ACT EXAM, which is not only the nation's most widely accepted college entrance exam, but also a graduation requirement for Williamson County students.

This issue of IN FOCUS features several video stories.  In the first one, we'll take you back in time as Franklin High School seniors hold their annual MEDIEVAL FEST.  Plus, find out how Walnut Grove's Rock and Roll READ-A-THON is getting students excited about reading. FAMILY FUN NIGHT is one of the highlights of the year for students at Winstead Elementary School.  We'll show you how this year's event extended into the school day.  And cultures and customs from around the globe were on display at the fourth annual Ravenwood High School INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL.

Some of the other stories you'll find in this issue of IN FOCUS include the announcement of the district's new ASSISTANT SUPERINTENDENT, information about this year's Girls TEC CAMP and details regarding the Williamson County ART SHOW.  A CHILD PRODIGY will perform this month with the Brentwood High School Wind Ensemble.  We'll tell you all about that.  Plus, we tackle some tough topics in this week's RUMOR MILL, and three more students are honored as ACADEMIC ALL-STARS.

We hope you enjoy all this issue of IN FOCUS has to offer.  Please encourage others to sign up for IN FOCUS so they can keep on top of what's going on inside Williamson County Schools.  All they need to do is send us an EMAIL letting us know they'd like to begin receiving IN FOCUS.  The next issue will come out March 17.
