Singing students, fantastic fathers and amazing athletes headline this week's issue of IN FOCUS.  We have six videos for you to enjoy.  In the first one, we'll take you to Page Middle School where a new singing group called THE FERMATAS is learning the art of "a cappella".  Next, travel to Longview Elementary where the school hosts an annual event for dads called SUPER GUYS DAY.

You don't have to go all the way to Vancouver to check out the Winter Olympics.  We'll take you to Walnut Grove Elementary School where fifth graders compete in their own OLYMPIC GAMES.  Plus, find out how a program called DO THE MATH is getting students at Kenrose Elementary School excited about math.

From cosmetology to drafting, CAREER AND TECHNICAL EDUCATION courses can be found in every high school.  We'll explore how these programs prepare students for life in the real world.  And it was an exciting finish to a recent high school basketball game between Independence and Franklin.  Check out the highlights in this week's WCS SPORTS REPORT.

Some of the other stories you'll find in this issue of IN FOCUS include an update on the remaining number of SNOW DAYS.  Plus, the district's new online cafeteria PREPAYMENT SYSTEM will soon be coming to a school near you.  And Williamson County Schools recently held its 2010 TEACHERS OF THE YEAR ceremony.  Find out which educators were named the best of the best.

This week's PHOTO GALLERY features more than four dozen snapshots from schools across the district.  Plus, find out which students were honored with this month's STUDENT SPOTLIGHT.  And don't forget to check out the MUSIC/THEATRE section, where you'll find information regarding upcoming performances of Nunsense and Beauty and the Beast.

Please encourage others to sign up for IN FOCUS to keep on top of what's going on inside Williamson County Schools.  All they need to do is send us an EMAIL letting us know they'd like to begin receiving IN FOCUS.  The next issue will come out March 4.
