ISSUE 22
June 24, 2010

IN THIS ISSUE...

We hope you are having a great summer!  This issue of IN FOCUS features two video stories.  In the first one, we'll show you how this year's TECH CAMP is teaching local students about technology and keeping them entertained at the same time.  Plus, we'll take you to the KIDS ON STAGE Summer Academy and explain why this camp is one of a kind.

Some of the other stories you'll find in this issue of IN FOCUS include information about the site of a new ELEMENTARY SCHOOL and the decision by the Williamson County Commission to opt out of the GUNS IN PARKS legislation.  Plus, we'll tell you about Heritage Middle School's NEW PRINCIPAL and answer your questions regarding the budget in our FISCAL FACTS section.

Here at IN FOCUS, we enjoy showing off the accomplishments of our students which is why we're proud to announce the WCS TOP 10 for the 2009-2010 school year.  Plus, more than a dozen Williamson County students were named NATIONAL MERIT FINALISTS.  We'll tell you who they are.  And don't forget to check out the STUDENT SPOTLIGHT section, where we honor local students for winning state or national competitions.

As always, we hope you enjoy all this issue of IN FOCUS has to offer.  Please encourage others to sign up for IN FOCUS so they can keep on top of what's going on inside Williamson County Schools.  All they need to do is send us an EMAIL letting us know they'd like to begin receiving IN FOCUS.  The next issue will come out July 22.
