ISSUE 4

IN THIS ISSUE...

We have important news to share with parents and community members in this issue of IN FOCUS.  The district-wide REZONING process continues tonight as the Williamson County School Board gets its first look at the proposed zone lines.  Plus, TCAP results will be released next week.  And the district's annual COLLEGE FAIR is coming up in just a few weeks.

This issue of IN FOCUS also features two video stories.  In the first one, we'll take you to Fairview High School where students in Christy Brumit's Health Science class recently participated in a mock DISASTER DRILL.  Our second video is for parents who plan to use the district website to view proposed zone lines.  We have a brief TUTORIAL VIDEO that's designed to help them through the process.

Some of the other stories you'll find in this issue of IN FOCUS include new results from the district's seven year STRATEGIC PLANNING process, the names of this year's NATIONAL MERIT semifinalists and information about the EXHIBITION OF BANDS.  Plus, we'll explain why a local company is giving the district $72,000 in SCHOOL SUPPLIES.  And two students earn PERFECT SCORES on their college entrance exams.  Find out how they did it.

Find out what people are talking about in this week's edition of the RUMOR MILL.  Plus, get a glimpse of life inside the classroom with our PHOTO GALLERY.  Inside, you'll find snapshots of students and teachers from schools across the county.  And find out how you can participate in this year's World of Possibilities CAREER FAIR for eighth graders.

We hope you enjoy all this issue of IN FOCUS has to offer.  Please encourage others to sign up for IN FOCUS so they can keep on top of what's going on inside Williamson County Schools.  All they need to do is send us an EMAIL letting us know they'd like to begin receiving IN FOCUS.  The next issue will be released September 30.
