IN THIS ISSUE...

We have several videos for you to enjoy this week.  First off, we'll take you inside the only high school CULINARY ARTS program in the district and show you how it's helping students prepare for the future.  Plus, take a ride on the BUFFALO EXPRESS with one of Williamson County's most colorful school bus drivers.  And students at Crockett Elementary School celebrated EARTH DAY with a special project this year.  We'll show you what they made.

Also in this issue, information about the DIRECTOR OF SCHOOLS interviews; questions and answers regarding the SWINE FLU; and photos from this year's SHINING APPLE awards ceremony.  Plus, some local students put their imagination and problem-solving skills to the test by advancing to the DESTINATION IMAGINATION Global Finals.  The awards keep coming in for our district's media production students.  Find out which schools brought home the hardware at this year's STUDENT EMMYS.  And it pays to exercise.  Just ask the winners of this year's WALK ACROSS WILLIAMSON activity contest.

Franklin High School will unveil a new DRAFTING PROGRAM this fall that's designed to help students interested in architecture, engineering and construction management careers.  Find out how students can be part of this new course of study.  Plus, Sunset Middle School is set to show off the many talents of its students with an upcoming ART SHOW.  And find out which students were named the winners of the Family Resource Center's WRITING CONTEST.

Be sure and check out our MUSIC/THEATRE section which contains information about several upcoming performances including a forensics showcase and a concert featuring country music star Julianne Hough.  Plus, we have a whole slew of new faces featured in the STUDENT SPOTLIGHT section, as well as snapshots from schools across the county in our PHOTO GALLERY

Please remind folks to SIGN UP for IN FOCUS, and as always feel free to EMAIL US with any comments or questions.  The next issue of IN FOCUS will be released May 14.
