ISSUE 13
February 21, 2008

IN THIS ISSUE...

This issue of IN FOCUS features some of country music's biggest stars performing for a sold-out crowd at Ravenwood High School.  Grammy-nominated singer Taylor Swift joined Marty Roe and Jimmy Olander of Diamond Rio, as well as songwriter Dave Berg for the 2008 MUSIC 4 MUSIC concert.  Also this week, we'll take you to the Frist Center for the Visual Arts in Nashville, where the artwork of some Williamson County students is on display for the 2008 SUPERINTENDENT'S ART SHOW.  Plus, you'll see how some Brentwood Middle School students turned a successful fundraiser into a happy VALENTINE'S DAY for patients at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital, and we'll introduce you to the 2007-2008 TEACHERS OF THE YEAR

Some of the other stories you'll find in this edition of IN FOCUS include important information on OPEN ZONED SCHOOLS.  Plus, the Spring Hill KIWANIS CLUB is giving money to some local teachers.  Find out which schools will reap the benefits.  And KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION will begin soon.  We have an updated list of dates and times to register for each school.

You will also want to check out our FUNDRAISER and MUSIC/THEATRE sections for some new events happening around our schools, including details on how you can attend an upcoming concert by the country music group Lonestar.  And be sure to take a glance inside our PHOTO GALLERY.  You never know who might be featured.

We hope you enjoy what this issue has to offer and please encourage people to SIGN UP for IN FOCUS so they can learn about all the great things happening within Williamson County Schools.  As always, feel free to EMAIL US with any comments or suggestions.  The next IN FOCUS will be out March 6.
