ISSUE 7
NOVEMBER 8, 2007

GIVING THANKS...

It's hard to believe Thanksgiving is just a few weeks away.  Teachers and students will get a much deserved break November 21 through 23.

This edition of IN FOCUS features six news videos.  Find out how students at Sunset Elementary are learning important <LESSONS FROM PERU>.  A group of third graders experience school as it was in the year 1845 with a trip to <BOILING SPRING ACADEMY>.  Students learn how to protect themselves from online predators with an important lesson regarding <INTERNET SAFETY>Also, a former Tennessee Titan teaches children at Lipscomb Elementary about the importance of <EATING HEALTHY>.  Educators from across the nation take a <TECHNOLOGY TOUR> at Nolensville Elementary and another group of secretaries and bookkeepers are treated to a <LUXURY LIMO LUNCH>.

Other stories this week include Williamson County Schools' impressive performance on the 2007 State Report Card, a group of high school students take the stage at the CMA Awards Show and why knowing your BMI is an important step toward living a healthy life.

We have several new additions to the MUSIC/THEATER section including a special Veterans' Day performance in Brentwood and Page High School's own take on the wildly popular TV show American Idol.

Also, be sure to pass along the word to parents and business and community members to SIGN UP for IN FOCUS.  We want all Williamson County residents to be informed about their school district. Enjoy this issue, and look for the next issue on November 29.
