A group of 10 senior football players at Page High School recently took time away from training and working out to help their community by volunteering with the Peytonsville Fire Department.
On July 22, the guys teamed up with members of the fire department to go inspect and change smoke detectors in homes of the elderly.
“Ultimately our jobs as coaches and teachers are to teach kids how to be productive and active members of our community,” said PHS Athletic Director and Head Football Coach Charles Rathbone. “Through community service projects, our kids get to give back to the Page community that gives so much to us. It’s always a privilege to meet our supporters.”
The team tries to do three to four community service events each year.
