WCS District Athletic Director Jeremy Qualls held a news conference August 27 to officially unveil the WCS Sports Conference app designed by Scorebird.
“We’re so excited about this, it has been a year in the making,” said Qualls. “We’ve been looking for an online presence for all of our schools, and we want all of our sports to be represented in an equal fashion. Now everyone can get any kind of information about those particular programs and athletes.”
For now, Centennial High School is serving as beta tester for the app while Scorebird and WCS work out different issues that may arise.
“We have over 500 athletic events in fall sports that we will get information out about via this app,” said Qualls. “The possibilities are endless.”
The full app release date is to-be-determined but users can still download the app from iTunes or Google Play to test the interface via Centennial High School athletics.
Two of Scorebird’s founders, David Andrews and his brother Steve Andrews, are Franklin High School graduates. They started the app with colleagues Jason Damewood and Josh Yockey and now serve all across Tennessee at no cost to schools.
