The purpose of this section is to answer any questions parents, teachers or community members might have regarding the school district and to set the record straight in regards to any rumors that might be circulating.
If you have a question or have heard a rumor that you would like for us to address, simply SEND US your questions and we will respond to them in upcoming issues of InFocus. Below are some of the questions we have received since our last issue.
Will Sunset Elementary, Sunset Middle or Nolensville High ever become an International Baccalaureate sites?
At this time, there are no plans for those schools to become International Baccalaureate sites.
Now that the YMCA will not be providing before and after school care at school sites, what will the program be called? Is this program open to care for children on professional development/days when the teachers attend school but students do not?
The Williamson County Schools SACC program will handle before and after school care at all sites. The SACC program is open on professional development days during the school year when students are not at school. For additional information about the WCS SACC program go to our website or contact the SACC office at 615-472-4039.
I would love to see a police officer stationed at the BMS/BHS on Murray Lane during drop off and dismissal times. Every day I drive through at those times and MANY cars (parents and young drivers) disregard the posted school speed limits. This is a dangerous situation. How does the district go about getting this accomplished?
Traffic management at school sites is handled by individual municipalities, not the school district. Contact your local law enforcement agency for more information.
