The Academic All-Star award is given to students who exhibit a positive attitude and a commitment to excellence in the classroom. Molly Ann Adams is a hard-working student whose steady improvement in the classroom made her the undisputed choice for Walnut Grove Elementary School’s Academic All-Star award.
“Molly Ann demonstrates a consistent commitment to hard work and a remarkable resilience to push through,” said her teachers. “Even when challenged by an arduous assignment, she never complains or gives up. She is not shy about asking questions to gain greater insight. Her heart’s desire is to improve.”
Having attended Walnut Grove since kindergarten, Molly Ann says making the move to middle school next year will be bittersweet.
“I’m going to miss all the fun activities that we do at Walnut Grove like the family fun night, the spring carnival and the book fairs,” said Molly Ann. “The teachers here are really nice and they help me when I struggle. They’re always there if I need help.”
Although her favorite subject is math, Molly Ann says she hopes to have a career in science.
“I want to be a biologist when I grow up,” said Molly Ann. “I like to be outdoors. We have some woods behind our house which is fun, and we have a lot of pets. I like animals a lot.”
According to her teachers, Molly Ann has both the drive and the temperament to accomplish great things.
“During class, Molly Ann remains engaged with a positive attitude,” said her teachers. “Throughout the school year, we have seen her confidence grow as she realizes the breadth of her potential. We are very proud of Molly Ann and predict she will have a bright future ahead of her.”
In the meantime, Molly Ann says she’ll continue working hard as she moves on to sixth grade.
“For me, the motivation is knowing it’s all going to pay off when you get older,” said Molly Ann. “It helps knowing that my family is there if I need help and they’re always there to help me do my best.”
