Williamson County Schools has a new scam alert to pass along to parents, business owners and community members.
We have been notified that a company based out of Texas called Prime Time Advertising is contacting local businesses in an effort to collect advertising sponsorships for Franklin High School boys’ and girls’ winter sports teams.
This is the typical scam: a company offers to put your company’s logo on cheap promo products to “support” a school. Your schools gets no support from this scam, and we won’t distribute these junk products at our schools.
“This company is not affiliated with Williamson County Schools,” said WCS Deputy Superintendent Jason Golden. “Out of town businesses typically do not sell products on behalf of our schools or school district. If you purchase these products for our schools, they will not be distributed. We do not accept unsolicited ‘gifts’ of spirit wear such as sponsored footballs, t-shirts, banners, posters, etc. These companies are violating Tennessee school fundraiser laws.”

We appreciate the support we receive from our business community and want to make sure their donations are actually received by the school of their choice.
If you have questions about any solicitation you receive, please give your principal, the school district or local law enforcement a call. Each principal is aware of fundraisers that are being conducted on behalf of a particular school.
