In honor of National Grandparents Day, Winstead Elementary invited students and their grandparents to a breakfast on September 10.

The annual Grandparents Breakfast is a big crowd-pleaser, and it attracts more and more people each year.

“This is my third or fourth year,” said Winstead Elementary PTO member Carolyn Michell. “The turnout every year just amazes me. This is the biggest one by far.”

In addition to the breakfast, there were three photo booths for the guests’ enjoyment. Students were also able to give their grandparents a special “Grandparents Rock” to put in their garden.

“It’s just awesome,” Michell said. “It’s great for the staff; it’s great for the kids; and it’s great for the grandparents. It’s the best day of the year.”
