Franklin High Advanced Placement (AP) Government and Economics students boarded a bus Friday morning, but this wasn’t a regular school bus.
The C-SPAN Bus made a pit stop at Franklin High December 14 to teach students about the political process. By using tablets, a 360-degree camera and studio sets, the bus makes learning about politics interactive and entertaining.
Students could test their knowledge of political history and practices by taking a quiz at one of the tablets. They were also shown how C-SPAN covers political speeches and events.
“This was perfect for our students,” said Franklin High AP Human Geography teacher Ashley Flood. “They were talking about media and the government during class, and the timing was perfect. Some of our media students even stopped by. It was a great experience for everyone.”
