Students from Fairview Middle, Fairview High and Page High are earning recognition after their success at the Technology Student Association’s (TSA) Middle Tennessee Regional Conference in Smyrna January 25.

The TSA is an organization made up of students engaged in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). It’s the oldest student organization dedicated exclusively to students enrolled in technology education classes. The regional conference is a yearly event that brings together students around Middle Tennessee to hone their skills and get feedback before the state conference.

Students competed in events such as Board Game Design, Debating Tech Issues and Extemporaneous Speech. Many WCS students placed in the top three of their categories.

“TSA gives our students an opportunity to further their knowledge in specific areas of technology, and it also allows them to learn those really important soft skills,” said Fairview Middle Career and Technology Education teacher Sara Reynolds. “It is always a fun and rewarding experience to see our students not only learn from the process but be rewarded and recognized for the effort they put in.”
