Several Williamson County Schools’ Junior Reserve Officer’s Training Corp (JROTC) programs were awarded bronze medals by the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) April 28.

The SAR John Sevier Chapter held its annual award program and presented the medals to the programs in front of family and friends. The SAR is a national organization that aims to honor and preserve the memory of those who served in the American Revolution.

The awardees were Cadet Sgt. Maj. Julisa Garcia from Independence High, Cadet Capt. Blake Armour from Ravenwood High, Cadet Capt. Neil Wheatley from Franklin High and Cadet Capt. Sophia Snow from Page High.

Sophia also placed first in the SAR Enhanced Essay contest.

“We are very proud of these outstanding young men and women,” said PHS Senior Army JROTC Instructor Col. Eric Goslowsky. “Congratulations to them all on a job well done.”
