The City of Brentwood is donating $239,000 to schools that serve Brentwood students.
At the regular City Commission meeting Monday, August 26, representatives from Brentwood elementary, middle and high schools accepted the donation.
Brentwood and Ravenwood high schools each received $62,400. Brentwood, Sunset and Woodland middle schools each received $15,600. Crockett, Edmondson, Jordan, Kenrose, Lipscomb and Scales elementary schools were given $10, 400. Sunset Elementary was awarded $5,000 based on to the percentage of Brentwood students enrolled in the school.
“We very much appreciate the ongoing support of the Brentwood City Commission, both financially and in so many other ways,” said WCS Superintendent Jason Golden. “This financial support supplements academics, the arts and athletics for these schools and their students.”
The City of Brentwood has donated more than $5.8 million to Williamson County Schools in Brentwood over the past 33 years.
