Central Office Leaders Assume New Roles

Two Central Office leaders will assume new roles beginning in July. WCS Athletes Have Successful Spring Fling

Students from five WCS high schools claimed state championships at this year's Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association's (TSSAA) Spring Fling tournament. The Spring Fling is an Olympic-style tournament for baseball, softball, track and field, tennis and soccer. This year, the tournament was held May 22-25 in Rutherford County. The 2017-18 school year has come to an end, but that doesn't mean it's time to forget the accomplishments of the Class of 2018. The district is proud to recognize the valedictorian and salutatorian of each senior class. These titles are awarded to the first and second student in the class, respectively. Dr. Kurt Jones Independence High Assistant Principal Dr. Kurt Jones has been selected to lead Fairview High School next year. Superintendent Dr. Mike Looney made the announcement Friday. Dr. Leigh Webb Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources Dr. Leigh Webb has been selected as the Assistant Superintendent of Secondary Schools. Changes involving two Central Office leaders have been announced by Superintendent Dr. Mike Looney today. Dr. Patrick Boyd Dr. Patrick Boyd has been named Principal of Woodland Middle School. Boyd replaces longtime principal Priscilla Fizer who announced her retirement earlier this year. Boyd began his career in Williamson County Schools 15 years ago. Jill Hunt Williamson County Schools Superintendent Dr. Mike Looney has announced that Jill Hunt will be leading Westwood Elementary next year. She replaces Valerie Garcia who is retiring. New Principal Announced for Alternative Learning Center

Josiah Holland Fairview Middle School Assistant Principal Josiah Holland will serve as the principal for the Alternative Learning Center, ALC, next year. Superintendent Dr. Mike Looney made the announcement on Tuesday. Williamson County Schools will be taking over the operation of the ALC from Williamson County Juvenile Services with the 2018-19 school year.
