Student Offerings

Students have the opportunity to participate in a variety of activities at Jordan.  Student Council, Green Team, Chorus, Art Crew, and Book Fairs are just a few of the things planned for students. PTO offers many exciting events for students and their families as well.

The Green Team meets the first Tuesday of each month at 7:45 in the morning. The purpose of the Green Team is to promote the 3 R’s: reduce, reuse and recycle. We ensure that Jordan is an eco-friendly school by recycling various items such as cardboard, plastic, and paper. The Green Team educates and raises awareness of the importance of recycling in the community.  Please contact Ashley Hutsell for additional information.

The JES choir is composed of 4th and 5th grade students.  They learn a variety of new music including songs in a new language as well as differing melodies at the same time.  The choir has performances throughout the school year.  Choir is currently meeting on Tuesday mornings at 7:45.  Contact Ms. Smallwood for more information.

Run group is for 2nd -5th graders who enjoy running or want to explore more about running. Runners met for six weeks this fall on Monday and Wednesday mornings from 7:45-8:25.  Run group will resume meeting this spring.

The JES Student Council is comprised 4th and 5th grade students (a boy and girl from each class) that have been selected by their classroom peers. These students share the common mission to make our school and community a better place by conducting various service projects.  Please contact Taren Hatcher with questions.

5th graders meet on their scheduled Wednesday with Mrs. Roberts and Mrs. Rogers to rehearse their upcoming broadcast show for morning announcements.  In January, we will be begin adding 4th graders to our broadcast team.  Please contact Kristi Roberts or Judy Rogers if you have questions.

Art Crew gives students extra time outside of their weekly art class to explore art and develop their creativity. We also help create signs and decorations for school events and design the sets for Jordan’s music programs. At the end of the semester, we have a special project that will allow us to give back our community!  Students in fifth grade are invited to participate on Wednesday mornings at 7:45.  Please contact Elizabeth Galaher for details.
