We offer many activities before, during, and after school hours. Whether you like running, dancing, or keeping our library organized, there are many activities for students to participate!
The Lipscomb Chorus meets on Thursday mornings in the music room at 7:35 AM. We perform twice a year at the end of each semester. Chorus is open to all 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students. Sign up and information for 2019-2020 Chorus. Please contact Mr. Andrulonis if you are interested in joining chorus or have any questions.
The dance team is FREE and is open to ALL 4th and 5th grade students. Dance team will meet on Wednesday mornings at 7:45 AM. We may also meet on some Fridays as needed to prepare for our Winter performance. Dance practice will begin on Wednesday, August 28th, 2019. Dance team will perform at the Winter concert in December. Feel free to contact Brenda Vroon with any questions or concerns.
Open to 5th grade students who would like to volunteer 20 minutes, once a week, to be library assistants. Duties include shelving books, assisting younger book shoppers, setting up library for special events, and gathering materials for projects.

If you have any questions please contact Mr. Andrulonis.
Run Team will begin on Monday, August 26, 2019 and end on Monday, October 7, 2019. Run Team will meet every Monday and Wednesday. Run Team will end promptly at 4:15 PM. Please pick up your runner(s) at the Civitan Gate.
Students who would like to participate must register using the link below. Lipscomb Run Team is open to all students grades K – 5. Students may walk, jog, or run as many laps as they can during this time. All students will earn a toe token for every 3 miles completed on the track (15 laps). Toe tokens will be handed out in Physical Education Class.
We do encourage parents to come participate with your child or volunteer to help. We would like to have at least 4 volunteers per grade level to help with the lap count.
Students participating in the Lipscomb Run Team must make arrangements to be picked up by a parent or guardian after school, promptly at 4:15 PM. If your child attends SACC after school, he/she will meet a SACC leader when Run team is over.
The deadline to register is Tuesday, August 20, 2019. There will be NO late registration. If you think your child would like to participate, please register him/her before the deadline. If your child can only participate one day a week due to other scheduled activities, that is fine.
If Lipscomb Run Team is cancelled due to inclement weather, students will be informed and parents will be notified via e-mail. Parents may contact Mrs. Vroon or Mr. Taylor with any questions regarding Run Team. There is no cost to participate.
Again, the deadline to register is August 20, 2019 at noon. If you think your child may want to participate in Run Team, go ahead and register.
For the third year, we will have a free Rocktober Run for all students who are members of The Lipscomb Run Team. The one mile race will be held on Tuesday, October 8th during school. Only Run Team members will participate in the Rocktober Run. Medals will be given to the top 3 boys and girl finishers in each race.
We are looking forward to a great season of running at Lipscomb!
Safety Patrol is open to 5th grade students who wish to be ambassadors for the school. The Safety Patrol directs student traffic in the halls during arrival and dismissal. They are role models that assist younger students. For information or questions contact Monika Brown.
Stage Design meets on Wednesday mornings before school, and is only for 5th grade students. There are two sessions: fall and spring.
The Stage Design group will be involved in designing and creating stage decor, costumes, and props for two Chorus/Dance performances throughout the year. We will brainstorm, problem solve, choose color schemes, design, create, and present our work all while working as a team. The goal of this group is to explore art and design aspects of theater, while learning helpful skills in art and collaboration. We will coordinate our design work with the music and dance performances.
A total of 15 students will be selected for the Stage Design group to ensure collaboration opportunities. Students will be selected based on level of interest. However, if there are too many applicants, students will be selected at random from a pool of interested students.
Stage Design is lead by Marissa Walter.
The Lipscomb Student Council is a service learning and leadership program for 4th and 5th grade students. Our Student Council focuses on helping people in our school, our sister school (Cole Elementary School in Nashville), and in our community. Two student representative are selected from each 4th and 5th grade class by their peers. Interested students write an essay and give an oral presentation through Life Skills class explaining their ideas and motivations for becoming a Student Council representative. LES Student Council members have weekly lunch meetings and visit an assigned “buddy class” (K-3 classroom) regularly to communicate the initiatives of the council. School Counselor Diane Wauford is the program sponsor.
