Planning for the Next Steps after High School

The Nolensville High School Counseling Center is here to assist you with your College and Career Planning needs. Every student should leave NHS ready for the next stage. For our students who are college-bound, the counseling staff can assist with preparing for testing, completing college applications, and seeking out financial aid.

Tennessee Promise

High school seniors in Tennessee may apply for the Tennessee Promise scholarship, which will provide two years of tuition-free attendance at a community or technical college in Tennessee.

Tennessee HOPE Scholarship

The Tennessee HOPE Scholarship Program provides scholarship and grant assistance to Tennesseans attending eligible Tennessee postsecondary institutions. The purpose of the program is to provide access for Tennesseans to post-secondary education, to improve high school and collegiate academic achievement, to keep more of the best and brightest students in Tennessee, and to provide social and economic benefits to the state of Tennessee.

Tennessee Student Assistance Corporation (TSAC)

The Tennessee Student Assistance Corporation administers over 20 different state student financial aid programs, including the HOPE scholarship, Tennessee Promise, Tennessee Reconnect, Tennessee Student Assistance Award, and the Dual Enrollment grant.

Transcript Requests

To request a transcript, do one of the following:

  • Juniors and Seniors may go to and submit their request. No fee.
  • All students may make a request in person at the NHS Counseling Center. $2 fee.

If requesting a transcript from NHS, please complete the NHS Transcript Request Form and allow several days for processing.

    Have no idea where to go to college? Create search parameters, and you will get a list of potential colleges.
  • Common App
    Recommended form for 277 colleges and universities for admission to their undergrad programs.
  • NCAA Eligibility Center
    Prospective student athletes should fill out the online U.S. Student Release Form to register with the initial-eligibility clearinghouse.
