Williamson County Schools teaches Internet safety and digital citizenship to all students and teachers. The district’s Acceptable Use, Media Release, and Internet Safety Procedures Agreement outlines expectations for mobile device use. Schools use the iSafe curriculum and other resources to prepare students to practice safe, legal, and responsible technology use. Teachers participate in professional learning activities focused on teaching and facilitating digital citizenship in the classroom.
Digital citizenship is a shared responsibility between home and school. District measures to filter content and protect students on personal mobile devices do not extend beyond school. As such, parents are encouraged to monitor their children’s devices outside the school setting and to have conversations with them about online privacy, safe navigation, and treating others with respect while online. Please see the resources below for further information on online student safety and citizenship.
