2nd Annual Drive Away Hunger Challenge
The Drive Away Hunger Challenge was started by the Darrell Waltrip Automotive Group as a way to help end hunger in Williamson County. Over the past six years, thanks to the help of Williamson County Schools & Franklin Special School District staff, students and their families, we have collected over 270,000 pounds of food. Your donations will benefit GraceWorks, GraceWorks West, One Generation Away and The Well. One exciting part of the challenge is the increase in incentive pounds. For every school who participates, Darrell Waltrip Automotive Group will donate 500 pounds of food and in honor of the top three schools they will donate an additional 2,500 pounds per school. Last year the elementary school challenge took place in January, but the local pantries are running critically low on items for their Fuel Bags Program so our Food Drive will begin on Monday, October 30th and go through Friday, November 17th. Boxes are located in the main hallways.
