Technology provides students with opportunities to learn, create, collaborate, access, and explore new ideas. Digital tools are used to support learning, increase access to resources, encourage creativity, and help students develop skills that will prepare them for college, careers, and life beyond the classroom.

As members of our digital learning community, students are expected to use technology safely, responsibly, and respectfully. Whether accessing classroom resources through ClassLink, completing assignments, researching information, or creating original work, students play an important role in maintaining a positive and productive digital learning environment.

Responsible Digital Habits

Students use school-issued technology in ways that contribute to their learning, making safe, responsible choices as they engage with digital applications. This includes: 

  • Using technology for educational purposes
  • Demonstrating academic honesty and integrity
  • Protecting their passwords and account information
  • Reporting damage, loss, or technical issues promptly
  • Following district, school and classroom expectations for responsible technology use

Digital Literacy

Students participate in age-appropriate digital literacy, including instruction on the use of artificial intelligence, to support responsible digital readiness. Elementary lessons are incorporated during Library and Life Skills classes. Secondary students receive instruction through the Tennessee Social Media lessons and counselors.

Tennessee Social Media & Online Safety

Students in grades 6-12 will participate in the age appropriate instruction on social media and online safety to meet the standards provided in the Tennessee Teen Social Media and Internet Safety Act annually.
