In today’s time there are so many other choices to drink than water, but are they better? For those of you that drink plenty of water, good for you, you are ahead of the rest of your classmates! Teenagers are more likely to drink: coke, energy drinks, juice, sweet tea, coffee, sports drinks, etc. However, the amount of water being ingested is significantly smaller than is required to be healthy. Be aware of what you ingest because you live with the consequences. While those drinks are flavorful, they are not a drink you should constantly consume. Of course, drink them occasionally, but never JUST those. Everyone needs at least 4-6 cups each day; getting enough water everyday is very important for your health. Water has many benefits such as:

  • helps lessen calorie intake
  • carries nutrients and oxygen to your cells

  • boosts your immune system
  • gives you more energy
  • builds and repairs muscle
  • promotes a healthy heart
