If you are on a sports team or if you work out you know that you are not going to see your gains immediately. It can take weeks or ever months for you to see or feel gains from working out. Being on a sports team, however, you get some almost immediate gains such as new friendships, but not immediate physical gains. It can be discouraging to not be able to see your gains immediately but trust me if you just stick in there and keep doing your best and pushing yourself you will be happier and healthier in no time at all.

When interviewed, Fairview High School student Tristen said, “patience in knowing that you will not significantly improve yourself instantly and it takes time or that your teammates are people too and they require patience because they are not perfect [and neither are you].”

You should always try to be patient with your teammates and coaches as well as yourself. In every setting but especially in an athletic setting.
