Sleep is essential to health. As high schoolers we need to make sure that we are getting at much sleep as we can every night and not staying up late one night and trying to catch up on sleep the next. With all of the activities to participate in outside of the school day and homework that piles up with procrastination it can be difficult to get the recommended eight hours of sleep, but if we push ourselves to use our time wisely throughout the day we can manage to get close to eight hours of sleep or even an entire eight hours of sleep. In the past few weeks you might have filled out a Google form about school’s relation to sleep, here are the results.
Eight freshmen, 11 sophomores, 20 juniors, and eight seniors responded to the poll.
The majority reported getting 6-8 hours of sleep on a light homework night…
…and anywhere from 3-6 hours of sleep on a heavy homework night.
23 of the 47 who responded said that they had a job.
While 36 of the 47 who responded said that they had another extracurricular activity that took time out of their day multiple times per week.
